Barry Kennerk graduated fromDublin City University with a PhD in history in 2014. This is his fifthbook. When his third title, Moore Street: The Story of Dublin’s Market District(Mercier Press) was published in 2012, it garnered critical acclaim and waspraised by current Lord Mayor of Dublin, Nial Ring, as an authoritativework. Since then, he has continued towrite on an occasional freelance basis for newspapers at home and abroadincluding The Irish Times and New York Times.  He currently teaches English and history atBelvedere College, Dublin, and he is married with two daughters.
