Hugh Leonard was born in Dublin and lives in Dalkey. He is a successful playwright whose plays include A Leap in the Dark, Madigans Lock, A Walk on Water, Stephen D., The Patrick Pearse Motel, Suburb of Babylon, Kill, Da, The Poker Session and A Life. He is also a brilliant adaptor of books for television and writes a weekly newspaper column.
