Helen Murray was born in Belfast and studied drama in London before pursuing a career in journalism.

She returned to Belfast and began reporting for the Irish News and then moved to Dublin where she has been working for The Sunday Tribune ever since. In September 2004 she was appointed Features Editor of the Tribunes magazine, I.

She regularly contributes to Magill magazine and has appeared as a guest panellist on RTE television and radio.
