Treanor, Máire

Máire Treanor was born and educated in Armagh, completing a degree in Irish Studies at the University of Ulster in Coleraine. She came to Clones in 1988 and fell in love with the story of its lace, which had once been world-famous. As a modern missionary for Clones lace, she has taught it in Dublin, Belfast, Derry and various parts of America.

She enjoys creating new pieces, developing the craft as an artform and making presentation pieces for dignitaries who visit county Monaghan, and tourists to Clones.
