Blake, Carla
Carla Blake is a well-known gardener, food writer and journalist. She enjoys life to the full: her family, friends, dogs, writing and community, and grows her own vegetables. She is an advocate of fresh, locally produced food, and believes that preparing and enjoying food with others is one of the most fulfilling aspects of life. Her spectacular garden features in the O’Brien Guide to Irish Gardens, and has raised thousands for charity over the years. She is featured in the Dictionary of Munster Women Writers 1800–2000 which cites her journalism as a unique record of 1960s and 1970s Irish social history.
