O'Reilly, Barry

Barry O'Reilly is an archaeologist and historian of vernacular (traditional) buildings. He has written extensively about Irelands heritage of traditional architecture and co-authored Ballyknockan: a Wicklow Stonecutters Village (1997). He currently works with the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage, Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. A native of Dublin and now living near Fethard, County Tipperary, he is married to Jean Farrelly, also an archaeologist and has one daughter, Doireann.
