Trench, Charles Chevenix

Charles Chevenix Trench was born in 1914 and lives in County Tipperary. He has written a biography of Daniel O'Connell, and is an expert on Catholic landed families under the Penal Laws. His own family, Irish Protestant Ascendancy during the eighteenth century, first arrived in Ireland as Huguenot refugees from religious persecution in France.
