Ó Gadhra, Nollaig

Nollaig Ó Gadhra was born in Feenagh, County Limerick in 1943. An NUI (Cork) History graduate, biographer and bilingual journalist, he lectured in Communications and European Studies at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. He wrote biographies of Gandhi (1969), John Boyle OReilly (1976), Edward Ignatius Rice (1977) and Richard J Daly (1979) as well as three award-winning books of modern Irish political history, Guth and Phobail (1984), Ríocht Roinnte (1985) and Éire agus Polaitíocht na Heorpa (1986). Other books include Margáil na Saoirse (1988) and An Chéad Dáil Éireann (1989).
